Sermons in Heart Chambers

King of the Living, You are Alive.
"For the Word of God is living and powerful, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of thoughts and intents of the heart." -Hebrews 4:12

Yesterday morning, over a cup of coffee, I dialogued with the Living God. This is a radical departure from the narrative of earthly wisdom, for the human mind is atheistic at best.

But Jesus is no Imaginary Friend.

(though having not seen Him, you love Him...
1 Peter 1:6)

In feverishly looking backwards at a trail of brokenness, we find only a vacuum. In gazing forwards and upwards at Him, our eyes are brightened. Holy is His Name.
"If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God." Colossians 3:1-3
I began to ask the Lord for His thoughts.
I spoke to Him of my questions. I waited upon Him.
He began to speak to me of the Spirit of Elijah and the call of God upon my life.

He spoke to me of this:
“ All flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of the grass. The grass withers, and its flower falls away, but the word of the LORD endures forever.”- 1 Peter 1:24-25
He led me to this:
"And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take the Kingdom by force." -Matthew 11:12
This little power-packed verse. It is almost like Elijah who thought he was the only prophet left, and God told him, that He had a remnant of 4,000. For the saints of God, the struggle and experience is common to all. It is not about the obstacles, but in zeal, it is about our REACH and our RESPONSE. How bad do we want the Kingdom? If we get knocked down, will we get back up?

He then began to open up to me passages from Isaiah 40, Malachi 2, 3 & 4, all of Matthew 11, Ruth 4:4, and others.

He told me, as priests, we must consider our actions in light of the Fame of God. Prioritizing His Name.
“And now, O priests, this commandment is for you. If you will not hear, and if you will not take it to heart, to give glory to My name,” says the LORD of hosts... -Malachi 2: 1-2
He told me to trumpet the vapidity and brevity of human life, and to consider the Creator God. Who is from Everlasting. (Isaiah 40.) This is our message: The knowledge of the Holy. Amen.

He said, all who wait upon Him, are strong. (Is. 40)

He said to me; "Melissa: I am Your Father and Your Husband. Your Kinsman Redeemer. (Ruth 4:4) And you are my priest, a forerunner in the spirit of Elijah. So honor the instruction of the Word, give honor where honor is due. Seek peace in the inward place, not wrought up with worry. It is the unfailing beauty of a peaceful heart that I am weaving in you. Lay hold of my promises, once again. You are my favored child, and my heart is towards you, always. Consider Me."  Amen.
"Do not let your adornment be merely outward—arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel— rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God. For in this manner, in former times, the holy women who trusted in God also adorned themselves..." 1 Peter 3;3-5
All of this over a cup of coffee. Sermons in the chambers of my heart.

Loaves and Fishies: No Small Offering

"But Jesus said to them, 'They do not need to go away; you give them something to eat! They said to Him, “We have here only five loaves and two fish...”    Matthew 15:16-17
In the midst of a season of transition, change, and oftentimes what feels like 'sitting on my hands,' a hidden gem of discovery has been revealed to my heart. The laws of heaven are at work! The Kingdom economy and inheritance of the believer is this: no lack, nothing wasted. All things working for the good of those who love God. (Romans 8.) The laws of multiplication. There is no lack, and that small offering we have to give, is multiplied 100fold, when born out of a place of love.

My prayer, "Lord, I long to be effective. I long to even today, show You love and to love those around me.  I want to bear fruit and not be idle. Life is brief. What can I do this day?"  And at face value, and glancing through a lens of "circumstance," it appears that what I have to offer in this season is pretty simple: NOT MUCH.

But upon deeper inspection....

Laws of Multiplication.

I bring my little loaves and fishies. Jesus does the rest! It is a matter of humility, of obedience and of worship. Pouring ourselves out like a drink offering.

Here is the revelation:  We give away the "morsels of love" from our heart. Then, they are MULTIPLIED!

"She opens her hand to the poor, yes, she reaches out her FILLED hands. [Whether in body, mind or spirit.]" Proverbs 31:20 AMP

It is not a matter of circumstance, but rather, perspective.

The Ministry of Encouragement. Sons and Daughters of Parakletos. Like Holy Spirit, edifying. Life Giving.

We live out the First and Second Commandment. This may look like the letter I mailed to encourage my relative who needed those words, or it may look like the random acts of kindness I gave simply and freely during the day, like the door I held open for the elderly man at the store, or the unexpected smile I gave away :) It may look like the moment I declined the temptation of sin and instead turned eyes of faith to God. It may look like the hidden prayers of intercession I lifted up all throughout the day and night. There is no praise of man or accolades in these things. But we do ALL things for the glory of the Lord. (Colossians 3:23.)

So, Jesus. Take my loaves and fishies. Take the morsels of my heart. I'll give them away over and over like bread. You are the Bread of Life. In me. And all my fountains are in You. Let this life be a fragrance. Thank You, that NOTHING IS WASTED when lavished at your feet. Let our lives be lit up with the revelation of the law of multiplication and a posture facing You. Hallelujah. Amen.

Celebration and Hallelujahs

It is the evening of the annual Fourth of July. Independence Day.
Many will celebrate with joyful gatherings and vibrant displays.

In the comprehensive evidence of celebration, therein is found the revelation of worth. What is valued, is celebrated! People come together and unite around a core value. Today, there is a celebration of freedom. But for the discerning heart, it is but only a prototype. The full beauty of freedom, when realized in actuality, is much greater still! We obtain this by faith; alone.

“Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, The people whom He has chosen for His own inheritance.”-Psalm 33:12
"Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free, indeed!" John 8:36
Today a bittersweet tug pulls upon my heartstrings. I am just a pilgrim here. I long for a Coming King. Another Age. The increase of His Government of Peace will have no shadow of turning, and it will have no end! Jesus, the Remedy.

In the dichotomy of an American nation drowning in debt, aborting millions of babies, and digging out of rubble, there is the juxtaposition of heritage, history and promise! There is something greater at play here! There is the "silver lining" of a Covenant Keeping God, who responds to even a small remnant of believing saints. It is available to those who will possess it by faith, and enter into the promises and destiny of the counsel of God. There is fullness of redemption suspended in the Heart of the Father. It is His will over earthly nations. The greatest destiny is to join the anthem unto the very glory and magnification of God!! There is a hopeful refrain amongst the fracture of earthy governments, which infinitely pales in comparison to the Coming Kingdom of Love. It will never fade away!
"Lift up your heads, O Gates! And be lifted up, you everlasting doors, that the King of Glory may come in!" Psalm 24:7
For we, God's people, can build altars in our hearts. Our praise infiltrates our spheres of influence in society, for the celebration and glory of a Humble, Beautiful One. Crescendos rise throughout the earth as the exponential song is displayed! Fragrant worship ascending in every place. We were created for this. We find our greatest fulfillment in this. Every longing is satiated in God.

My heart longs to be one who ushers convergence of heaven and earth, by a living a life not devoid of His love. I want to be a living temple, in the daily inhale and exhale of my very breath. In my small life. John 10:10 and Gal.2:20; MADE MANIFEST. Jesus. To see the fulfilling of the Great Commission, that He could have a people from every language, tribe and tongue. That Malachi 1:11 would be the inheritance unto the One that I love. A Holy Bride of all nations, throughout the ages, now living for the Fame of His Great Love! His Great Son.

In the days of King David of Israel, we see a king whose heart was fully given to love. We see "Paradise Lost and Memories of Eden" restored, as God's Shekinah did abide here on earth, again. There was never meant to be a separation, which came through sin. Heaven and earth were never meant to be "divorced." God and Man. Together, forever. That was the intent born of the Father. So, there was King David. The little boy who slayed lions and sang songs in the desert to the God of his youth, under the cathedral of the stars. This lovesick one who burned for "One Thing." To sit at the feet of God and gaze upon His beauty, all the days of His life. To build a resting place for God. Worthy is the Lamb.
"One thing I have desired of the LORD, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD, all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the LORD,  And to inquire in His temple." Psalm 27:4
The convergence of heaven and earth. There is even now erupting worship, in the very assembly of saints and angels who live in the perpetual, blinding Light of His Throne room amphitheater. Unceasing, unending praise forever flows! The Sea of Glass stretches out before the Holy One. It is the gathering place, there inside His Temple, not made with human hands. Here on earth, we also now enter in.

It is my cry, that Jesus would have His Hallelujahs.
That our worship could be mingled with fire in the heart of God's love. Joining in the very song around the Throne. Truly, a celebration worthy of fireworks!!!!!!!
In standard modern Hebrew, the word "hallelujah" is the word for requesting a congregation to join in praise. "Hallel" means to recite praise, "hallelu" is the plural form, and "halleluhu" is the imperative form of the verb. The grammatical extension "yah" is a way of expressing magnanimity for many Hebrew words. For example "merchav" means space, "merchavyah" means a vast space (Psalms 118:5); "shalhevet" means flame, "shalhevetyah" means a colossal flame (Song of Songs 8:6). Hence, halleluyah could also be interpreted as "great praise."

So as I watch the fireworks tonight, I let the colors, lights and celebrations become my actual petition. I let my prayer ignite the dormant promise! The fullness of America's destiny to give glory, fame and worship to God. The promise of entire nations preparing the way of the return of the Great King.

My prayer will be to see the Global House of Prayer RAISED up in the hearts of men and women. For truly, worthy, worthy is the Lamb! To see furnaces of celebration, anthems of worship, candles in the hearts of a tribe of priests, burning fragrance and incense to the Coming King, the Great Giver of Freedom (Isaiah 61.)
